Who We Are
We are a non profit organization with a mission to create joy and belonging for youth in a generation where exclusion, cyberbullying, discrimination, and forms of anxiety and depression are prevalent. We make a difference in a child’s sense of belonging, mental health, and well-being.
About #BeLikeTommy Project
It’s for all who believe that everyone deserves to feel joy.
Tommy knew how to make someone feel seen. He “just knew”. He knew how to make someone’s day. He knew how to thrift shop and make that granny sweater into something way more culturally relevant than its original wearer. He knew how to make his parents laugh, as well as his three sisters.
The one thing he didn’t know is that his life would end tragically at the age of 14 from sudden cardiac arrest while sledding with those he loved the most, his three sisters. Devastated but never alone, his family was swiftly lifted up in kindness by their friends and family. Simultaneously the hashtag #BELIKETOMMY went viral on social, because as soon as he left us, the universe knew we had a big heart and very big shoes to fill. What started as a movement to heal a small community grew to help nurture others. We are growing rapidly, and spreading our mission to youth in need. This world can be a very lonely place. We’re here to create joyful experiences for youth ages 10 – 18, focused on those most vulnerable to exclusion, discrimination, and forms of anxiety and depression that are becoming more prevalent at an increasingly younger age.
